We’re looking for our next Liberator – a Director of Accounting – to join our quest to provide market-transforming solutions for businesses, care teams and consumers to interactively manage health and care.

You, as the Director of Accounting, play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of managing the Accounting function within Medecision, ensuring compliance with Company (including parent company) policies and procedures, as well as the efficient and accurate closing of the Company’s financial statements on a monthly and annual basis. You will be a technical leader for the Finance function, keeping up to date, and ensuring the proper implementation of, current FASB pronouncements. In addition, it will be your responsibility to ensure the accurate, and timely, completion of monthly financial statement reporting and the annual financial audit. You will partner with designated business functions and other areas of Finance to track key metrics and to ensure that balance sheet and income statement accounts are properly maintained, analyzed, and stated on a regular basis. As a key leader within the Finance team, you will be expected to lead and develop a high-performing team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Direct the day-to-day accounting operations of the business.
Develop, evaluate, improve, and implement the necessary reports and analyses to enable management at all levels of the organization to clearly understand the financial situation of the Company at any point in time. These reports will include, but are not limited to, balance sheets, income statements and statements of cashflows, as well as an accurate forecast of future cashflows for the business.
Maintain financial records, with detailed support and analysis for all accounts, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organizational standards.
Ensure compliance with all Company, parent company and regulatory (e.g. FASB) policies, procedures and pronouncements, and to proactively address such items to ensure present and future compliance.
Ensure the timely and accurate closing, and reporting, of the financial accounts of the Company to both internal and external parties.
Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of all parent company requests for information, as directed.
Ensure the timely and accurate completion of the annual financial audit by the Company’s independent auditors, including financial statement preparation.
Assist in the management of the Company’s banking relationships, including credit cards.
Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in the utilization of automated tools for the updating, analyzing, and reporting of consolidated financial results.
Interpret and analyze data and financial information.
Prepare and present financial results, and other impactful and actionable information to management.
Support leadership and others in the organization with ad-hoc requests related to all areas of accounting and finance.
Maintain and support various accounting and finance systems, including Microsoft GP (“Great Plains”) and Financial Force.
Identify and promote efficiency and effectiveness through improved processes and automation.
Deliver continuous improvement by assessing problem situations, identifying root causes, gathering and processing relevant information, generating possible solutions, and making recommendations and/or resolving the problem.
Other ad-hoc requests as deemed necessary by management.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; CPA and/or Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including experience managing other accounting and finance related functions and staff.
Minimum of five years of audit experience in a national public accounting firm and a strong command of generally accepted accounting principles.
Expertise in financial systems and reporting and technical accounting skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives.
Ability to frame an issue and establish a process for solving a problem getting to the root cause.
Ability and willingness to be hands-on and dive into the detailed, tactical execution of the accounting responsibilities.
Strong organizational skills and have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated understanding of accounting systems; Microsoft GP or other products experience preferred.
Strong leadership, strategic agility, critical thinking, and analytical skills – proven high learning agility.
Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing demands of the position, customer needs and the organization.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Team player and willing to adapt to new tasks and projects.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
Additional Salary Information: Base salary plus annual bonus
