Duties for this role include but are not limited to accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger, which may include but are not limited to preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, budget variance reviews, research and analysis of assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting. Ensure assigned general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Primary Job Functions:
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Documents financial transactions by entering account information. Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality to support accounting functions and recommend financial actions Reviews profit and loss statements, prepares variance analysis. Applying technology to solve business issues.
Skills / Knowledge Considered a Plus:
CPA would be a plus.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related quantitative discipline is required. Two years experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for profit corporate environment. A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements. Strong analytical and financial analysis skills required.
