This position will be expected to lead an accounting staff for a growing independent Bank with over $1.9 Billion in assets in San Antonio. This individual will be responsible for the accounting functions and maintenance of five consolidated entities and oversee a team of three individuals reporting to the Controller & CFO.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review reconcilements for all 5 entities
Responsible for the month end closing process for all 5 entities
Prepare all regulatory reports for the Bank and its Parent Company
Responsible for the oversight and implementation of current and new accounting standards
Develop and maintain internal control policies
Provide support in creating the Parent Company’s annual report
Provide assistance and collaborate with internal and external auditors and bank examiners
5 years of accounting experience
Minimum of 3 years banking or financial institution expertise
Fluent in the month end closing process
Monitor and analyze accounting data to procure various financial reports
Proven knowledge in accounting principles and practices
3 to 5 years of accounting or audit work
3 or more years of managerial responsibilities
Accounting degree required
Finance and other business degrees will be considered
CPA or CPA in progress required
Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Office programs and various computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Adobe
Proficient in other proprietary financial industry software
Ability to operate 10-Key
Ability to work with office equipment such as personal computers, phone systems, copiers, scanners, shredders, fax machines and other digital devices
Excellent communication skills both written and orally
Ability to accurately communicate procedures and workflows
Strong focus on details and accuracy with assignments and data
Follow-through to ensure quality control on work assignments
Team oriented work ethic
Must be able to be mobile in the office environment
Must be able to bend and reach files and document control numbers and fixtures
Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer screen
Must be able to read from computer screens and paper ledgers, and type on a keyboard
