The accountant in this position would work with the senior CPA and tax attorneys to provide tax planning, prepare income tax returns on an annual basis, as well as assist taxpayers with prior year returns to get them back into compliance with the Internal Revenue Service. Tax return preparation includes fiduciary, business and personal income tax returns, as well as estate and gift tax returns and foreign bank account reporting. Training in strategic income tax planning and estate planning is a plus. In addition to the tax practice, the accountant provides temporary or part-time CFO and/or controllership duties for our clients, as well as accounting support for various team projects. For example, duties may also include performing or coordinating bookkeeping services needed in litigation cases or estate settlement.
CPA license is preferred, but will consider a serious CPA candidate depending upon experience
Accounting or Finance degree attained or in progress
Two to five years preparation of complex business and individual income tax returns required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Word, as well as QuickBooks, general ledger cleanup, reconciliations, financial reports, and an ability to set up new client accounting systems is necessary
ProSystemsFX Tax and/or Drake Tax Preparation experience is a plus.
